The project is herein referred to as 'CHARADE'; the artist (Simon Pope) and the co-producers (Capital Art Projects) as'the organisers'; the registrants as 'volunteers'.
How to registerIf you would like to volunteer to take part in CHARADE you can register your interest online at www.charade.org.uk and select 'Join'.Our registration policyYou can decide which item you would like to become for CHARADE. A song, book, play, film, video, TV or radio programme for example.
All volunteers are responsible for: Your contact detailsAs part of the registration process we ask you for contact details (address, email address and a phone number). This is because we would like to keep you updated about the progress of the project, keep you informed about the dates of the workshops and performance, and where possible let you know if the BBC, or a third party, is interested in broadcasting, screening or distributing your footage from CHARADE. We will not contact you for any other reason, spam you, or pass your details on to anyone outside the Project.ParticipationYou agree to participate in CHARADE only for lawful purposes, and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit anyone else's participation in and enjoyment of CHARADE. Prohibited behaviour includes harassing or causing distress or inconvenience to any person, transmitting obscene or offensive content.The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry for any reason at its absolute discretion. About your contributionContributions are made at the contributor's own expense and the BBC shall not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred in making an entry (except where more specifically provided).Contributions must be civil and tasteful No disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour: contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble. No unlawful or objectionable content: unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable. No advertising What rights am I giving to CHARADE?We ask for non-exclusive rights to use your contribution free-of-charge in any broadcastable form from the date of your registration. This allows us to broadcast your contribution, but doesnŐt stop you from giving others the right to show it too.Where you are invited to submit any contribution to CHARADE (including any text, photographs, graphics, video or audio) you agree, by submitting your contribution, to grant CHARADE a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licenseable right and license to use, reproduce, publish, broadcast and make available to the public, and exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to your contribution worldwide and/or to incorporate your contribution in other works in any media now known or later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in your contribution. If you do not want to grant CHARADE the rights set out above, please do not register. Copyright/IPRWhen registering your selection, you are responsible for attaining copyright clearance to use other author's material.These include music and script clearances, and location and participant release forms. We encourage you, however, to use your ingenuity to find ways to 'become' your chosen item in relation to Copyright & IPR issues. Disclaimers and Limitation of LiabilityUnder no circumstances will the organisers of CHARADE be liable for any of the following losses or damage (whether such losses where foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise): (a) loss of property; (b) loss of revenue or anticipated profits; (c) loss of business; (d) loss of opportunity; (e) loss of goodwill or injury to reputation; (f) losses suffered by third parties; or (g) any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from participation in CHARADE regardless of the form of action.If you're under 16: Please get a parent's or guardian's permission before registering with CHARADE. Taste and decencyIf you breach these Terms of Use:If you fail to abide by these Community Rules (and/or any variations in the relevant local house rules) when taking part in a CHARADE, you will be sent an e-mail which informs you why your registration has been terminated. This mail will also include a warning that continuing to break the rules may result in action being taken against your account or accounts. This action may include your relevant account or accounts being placed into pre-moderation or a temporary or permanent suspension of your ability to participate in any or all of CHARADE. If you transmit offensive or inappropriate content or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on CHARADE, and the organisers considers such behaviour to be serious and/or repeated, CHARADE may use whatever information that is available to it about you to stop any further such infringements. This may include informing relevant third parties such as your employer, school or email provider about the infringement/s. CHARADE reserves the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any account, at any time, for any reason. |
